Professional psychological support for your internationally mobile workforce
Employee Assistance Programme
When your employees are struggling, your organisation feels it — in productivity, in retention, in the quality of work and the health of your teams. For companies with internationally mobile staff, the challenges are compounded: relocation stress, cultural adjustment, isolation, identity loss, and the particular pressure of performing in a high-stakes role far from home.
Since 2009, Expat Psychologist Amsterdam has been the go-to psychological support partner for multinationals, embassies, NGOs and universities across the Netherlands. We understand the expat workforce from the inside — because our team has lived that experience too.
What we offer
Individual therapy for employees Confidential, professional psychological support for staff dealing with stress, anxiety, burnout, adjustment difficulties, relationship strain or any other personal or work-related challenge. Sessions are available in English, Dutch and Russian, in person across our three Amsterdam-area locations or online worldwide. Employees engage directly with their psychologist — the company is never involved in the content of sessions.
Burnout assessment and prevention Early identification of burnout saves companies significant cost in sick leave, reduced performance and staff turnover. We offer individual burnout assessments as well as structured prevention programmes — helping employees recognise warning signs early and build sustainable ways of working before crisis point is reached.
Critical incident debriefing When something serious happens in or around your workplace — an accident, a traumatic event, a sudden loss — the psychological impact on your team can be profound and lasting. We provide prompt, professional critical incident debriefing to help employees process what happened, reduce the risk of lasting trauma, and return to functioning with appropriate support in place.
Management coaching Effective leadership under pressure is a skill that can be developed. We work with managers and senior staff on communication, resilience, conflict resolution, and leading teams through change — with particular attention to the challenges of managing across cultures and leading internationally diverse teams.
Relocation onboarding support The first months after a relocation are when employees are most vulnerable to stress, disengagement and underperformance. We offer structured psychological onboarding support for newly arrived expat employees — helping them settle, adjust and integrate more quickly, so they can focus on the role you brought them here for.

Who we work with
We partner with organizations across a wide range of sectors and sizes — from small NGOs to large multinationals, from university departments to diplomatic missions. What they have in common is a workforce that operates internationally and deserves psychological support that understands that world.
Our clients have included multinationals with Amsterdam-based expat staff, embassies and international missions, NGOs and development organizations, universities and academic institutions, and international schools.
How it works
We keep it simple. There are no complex contracts or rigid retainer structures required to get started. Contact us directly to discuss your organizations needs — we’ll propose a practical arrangement that works for your team size, budget and situation, whether that’s a standing referral agreement, a one-off intervention or an ongoing programme.
All employee sessions are strictly confidential. We never share the content of individual sessions with employers.
